Ian's song

I love to sing songs to my boys even though I sound terrible. I make up little songs and sing them to familiar tunes. Ian's current fave is sung to Frere Jacques and goes:
Ian Scott, Ian Scott
Eyes so blue, eyes so blue
Mommy loves you, mommy loves you
Yes I do, Yes I do

  1. I do the same thing! Lately Analese loves it when I sing to her while I brush her teeth. The song goes: Twinkle twinkle little teeth - how I wonder what you mouth - up above the tongue so high - like a toothbrush in the sky......you get the idea, changing words here and there. Analese laughs like it is the most hilarious thing she has ever heard!

  2. I do the same thing! I have a two verse song that I sing my baby every time I'm putting her to bed. The tune is an off shoot of a song we used to sing in grade school ("There's a hole in my bucket, Dear Liza").

I used to sing it to my older daughter when she was a baby. When she had to get blood work recently, I held her and sang that song to her and she immediately calmed down.

I dread the day that my kids learn I can't carry a tune! Or at least the day they start to care!

  3. So cute!! Zoey loves Frere Jacques and loves to make up silly songs. I think she can tell that I can't sing though. I've already gotten the comment, "mom, don't sing please."
