Ian's Newest Teething Toy

Eli loves to get my pumping parts out of my bag and put them out to be cleaned. I hadn't gotten them off of the table yet......

Ian Sitting Up and Eli Throwing a Fit

Ian is finally sitting up by himself for a little bit and I got a few pics. Eli is still in the throwing fit stage if I want to take a picture and he was none to happy that I thought it was funny that he was in the walker! Ian loves being in the walker! He really has no control over the direction of it, but he is up and he is moving, which makes him happy!

Introducing Matthew James - Thanks for the prayers!

Overnight Matthew's breathing steadied and this morning he was released from the special care nursery. We were able to go visit! He is very sleepy and hasn't really nursed, so pray that he takes to nursing soon!

Ian checking out Matthew

Eli refused to get in a picture and I just realized that I didn't get one of Scott holding Matthew! OOPS!

And the name is....

My nephew has been named: Matthew James. He is doing okay. His oxygen sats are good, heart rate is good, he is having erratic respirations. They were going to name him Jonathan James (my brother's name is Jonathan) and call him JJ, but changed their mind. Anyway, for now only parents and grandparents are allowed to see him. My nieces are missing their mom and dad and my 4 year old niece desperately wants to see her brother. Thanks for keeping their family in your thoughts and prayers!

Prayers for my family

My nephew (yet to be named, my brother and SIL decided on the way to the hospital they didn't really like the names they had picked out) was born this morning at 36 weeks and 2 days and he is some having respiratory issues. He weighed 7 lbs and 9 ozs, and they are taking all precautions in regards to his care. We are waiting for results from the chest xrays. Please keep my precious nephew and his family in your prayers!

Tub Time!

Well, I decided to get out the bath ring and try it out with Ian. It worked alright, but I think we'll continue using the baby bathtub for a while. I only used the bath ring once with Eli and I don't think I will be using it much more than that with Ian. But, I have cute pics anyway!

A Few Pics

The three boys

Ian and Mommy

This was right after supper and I had gone to put on some "comfy" clothes and came back to find Eli sipping on the syrup!

Ian fell asleep sitting on my nephew Clint's lap!

"I rubbed it in!"

This morning I was slathering the kisses on Eli and he started to wipe them off with his arm. I started to pretend to cry and Eli grabbed my cheeks and said "Don't cry Mommy, I rubbed it in!" and then he kissed my nose!

Does God Wear John Deere Shirts?

Anyone who knows Eli knows that he has an obsession with John Deere. He picks out his own clothes and about five days a week he wears John Deere shirts. Yesterday when I was getting him dressed he asked me, "Mom, does God wear John Deere shirts?"

Ian Cried Because He Wanted Daddy!

Ian has been a total momma's boy for the first four monthes of his life. He will be perfectly content playing with my husband until he sees me walk by and then he cries until I come get him. He has started to reach out for daddy occassionally now, it is just so sweet. Today when Scott got home I was on the computer and Ian was beside me in his exersaucer. Scott came in and said hi to me and Ian and walked back in to the kitchen to get a drink. Ian watched him walk away and started crying when he couldn't see him any longer. I told Scott that Ian wanted him and he responded with "Yeah, right." I picked Ian up out of his exersaucer and instead of calming down like he normally does, he kept crying! I took him out to the kitchen, he saw Scott and started calming down. Scott reached out for him and Ian got all excited kicking his legs and reaching for his Daddy! Melts my heart!

Quick Catch-up

I have come down with a horrid cold and have only been doing the minimum amount needed to get by! A quick update of our week:
Ian finally began taking a bottle again on Wednesday. I don't get it, but whatever...he is back on the bottle!
Eli and I started swimming lessons. I swim with him and was amazed that he did so well! He was "swimming" (doggy paddle) all over the pool about five minutes in to the lesson...I was sure we would spend most of the time trying to convince him to not cling to me....guess I was wrong!
On February 23, I started a Healthy 100 Day Challange at work. I am not "dieting" per se, but have switched to diet pop, have increased my water intake, cut way down on snacks, increased the amount of fruits and veggies that I eat and started with some light physical activity. In two weeks I have lost 10 pounds and I am so proud! My goal isn't to lose weight, but to feel better and be more active so I can keep up with these boys, but the weight lose is something they are tracking for the challange and I was shocked when I stepped on the scale yesterday! Woo-hoo!
Along this same track....we got out Girl Scout cookies in last weekend! Yummy! I normally would have inhaled at least one box right away, but I have only had six cookies total!!! I love the thin mints and the peanut butter patties....I am very proud of the restraint that I have shown here!
I am getting spring fever...I actually am looking forward to spring cleaning! I am going to have to send Ian away for the day to get anything done, but I actually have ambition this year!
We are so ready for camping! We love to go camping and at the end of the summer last year, we bought a new to us 37 foot long camper! We only used it a few times last year, but are planning many camping trips this year and I can't wait! We thought that my husband's truck would be able to pull it when we bought it, but we were wrong, so for about six monthes we have been looking for a four door truck or an SUV that would be able to pull it. So...
This week we bought a new truck. It is a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500 with a Crew Cab (four doors). I will post pics later! I think that we are going to sell our van and use the truck as our "family car"....we still have to figure that out exactly.
I was able to go have coffee with several girlfriends this morning and that was nice...we never have enough time, but it is great just to sit down and catch up.
We have had some great weather this week. Thursday was 72 degrees here! Today it is 47 and rainy, so it makes it easier to stay in and get things done!

Stubborn Baby!

Ian is refusing the bottle again! Yesterday I was gone for about 5 1/2 hours and he barely took an ounce. Today he didn't have any milk for almost 10 hours! He ate a lot of cereal this morning my mom said, but still, I can't believe that he didn't have anything else! He refused the bottle all day. He wasn't fussy or anything, except when my mom tried to give him a bottle and then she said he screamed like a mad man! What am I going to do with this boy???

Thank you, Mommy!

This morning when Eli woke up, we were cuddling in our bed. My mom comes to the house and watches the boys during the week. He looked up at me and asked "Is Grammy here yet?" I said, "No, it's a stay home day for Mommy and Daddy." He reached up and put his arms around my neck and said "Thank you, Mommy. Thank you!"
