I heart Ricky Stanzi

We are Iowa Hawkeye fans! If you don't know, they won the Orange Bowl last night. More important than that, Jenna Waters has won her fight against cancer! Almost a year ago, I shared this story with your here. Jenna was today declared cancer free!!! Praise God!!! She has to have her blood levels checked monthly and a few more scans completed before they declare her in remission. What does my title of I heart Ricky Stanzi have to do with this whole story you ask? Well, Jenna has received treatment at the University of Iowa Hospitals. We are very lucky to live so close to such a great facility. Jenna was visited by a group of Hawkeye players and Ricky and Jenna became close friends. Last night, during the bowl game, one of the reporters shared the story of their relationship. If any of you watched the game, you could see his "Pray for Princess Jenna" pink armbands which he wears every game. The reporter was talking about this relationship and she shared that Ricky wanted her to tell Jenna he loved her. This brings tears to my eyes right now, Jenna is a precious little girl and I am so thankful that God has taken her cancer away and I pray that she remains cancer free. She has been through so much in the last year. Ricky has become someone that she keeps in contact with daily. In today's world it is reassuring to me that there are still good, kind people who are role models in the eyes of our children. Here is a link to the news story that a local station did on Jenna and Ricky. Jenna's mom reported that Jenna watched the entire game last night and that when the announcer said that Ricky wanted her to tell Jenna he loved her that she shouted back at the TV "I love you too Ricky!" Precious!
