Eli went with me to a craft show recently and he was so excited to see birdhouses there. He has seen birdhouses before (my parents have several) but it made him want to BUILD a birdhouse! He is really starting to think about things that he wants to do and then we talk about how to go about doing these things. I will ask him what we need, who could help us, how big things will be, etc. We ended up buying a birdfeeder kit because it would have been ridiculous to buy all of the wood we needed and then cut it to size, and besides this was so cute! Anyway, he wanted Daddy and Grampy to help him and all we have left to do is paint it!
Getting all the pieces out!
And then we glue.....
And then we hammer.....
Eli got bored, so Daddy and Grampy finished it up.
A picture when it's all done.
...and Eli had to sign his name! I have been trying to get him to work on writing his name, but he usually doesn't want to. I found him with the birdfeeder and pencil and when I asked him what he was doing he told me he had to put his name on it!
What a neat project! I'll bet Analese would like to do that project. Eli looks like he is having a great time!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely bird house. I'm sure the birds will be very grateful:-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool project and a good job. I tried building a dog house a couple years back and it came out crooked. LOL
