Eskimo Kisses!
Last night while giving me Eskimo Kisses, Eli says "Mom, why they call it kisses?" Me: "Because the Eskimo's rub their noses to kiss." Eli: "But kisses are from lips, not noses." Love that boy!

So That's Why I Have No Idea What He Is Saying... He's Speaking French!!!
I have been worried about Ian's speech for about 6 months. My mother thinks that I am crazy. She assures me that he talks to her all the time. Now, I will concede that he does randomly copy words that he hears, but the only words that he says regularly of his own accord are mama, dada and nini. He will babble and tell me an entire story, "speaking" to me for about a minute. I thought this was just babble until yesterday. I was at my mom's and Ian was sitting on my lap and he had just told me quite a story, but I had no idea what the story was about.....
I again said something to my mom about being worried about his speech and she AGAIN said that he talks all the time. I sarcastically said "I know he talks alot, and every once in a while I catch him talking about global warming. Maybe he is speaking French". My mom replied "parlez-vous francais?". Ian looked at her and smiled and started shaking his head yes!!!!!!!! So, all along my son has been speaking French! No wonder I have no idea what he is saying! Better sign up for some French classes.

Harvest 2009
Eli had so much fun helping Grampy Jon harvest this year. He didn't want to ride in the combine, but he did help haul corn in and helped him pick corn. I am sure it will only be a blink of an eye and I will be seeing my baby drive the tractors all by himself! Ian is becoming a fan of tractors too and gets excited when he sees them. I wasn't able to make it to the farm when they were picking, but here are some pictures that Grammy took of the boys.
Jack-O-Lanterns!
Happy Halloween!!
Both of the little boys were kangaroos for Halloween. Eli wanted to be a kangaroo and when I asked him what he thought Ian should be, he said a kangaroo too! I asked him why and he said "So I can carry him in my pouch." So sweet! Needless to say, after Eli's costume arrived, he told me he wasn't going to be a kangaroo, he was going to be a farmer. Ugh!!!!!! Anyway, both boys were kangaroos and Joe was a Cobra. We went to trick or treat around the square on Friday night and went to our family's houses on Saturday.

Blizzard 2009!!!!
We are currently under a blizzard warning! They have even cancelled the mail for today! I don't remember that ever happening. It has snowed about 9 inches and we are supposed to get wind gusts up to 50 mph! They say that the roads are drifting shut and in some areas have even called in the road crew saying it is to dangerous for them to be on the roads. So, I have two goals for today: updating my blog (which means multiple posts that should have been done the last month) and baking! My kitchen is going to be loaded with Christmas goodies when I am done!
Anyway, here are some pictures of the boys playing in the first of the snow yesterday:
